Canadian Math Contests

Are you good at math? Check out the contests listed below, and ask us how to register for them.

CEMC

The Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing at the University of Waterloo develops many internationally recognized contests that help YOU develop your love for math and computer science. CEMC is responsible for creating the following contests:

Problem-Solving

• Gauss (grades 7 and 8)
• Pascal (grade 9)
• Cayley (grade 10)
• Fermat (grade 11)
• Euclid (grade 12)

Full-Solution Contests

• Fryer (grade 9)
• Galois (grade 10)
• Hypatia (grade 11)

Other Math Contests

• CIMC: Canadian Intermediate Math Contest (grades 9 and 10)
• CSMC: Canadian Senior Math Contest (grades 11 and 12)
• CTMC: Canadian Team Mathematics Contest (team of 6 from any grade)

Caribou

The Caribou Mathematics Competition is held six times throughout the school year, and is open to students from grade 3 to 12. Ranking is determined by students’ performance in the best five of the six contests.

Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge

The COMC is Canada's premier national mathematics competition. It is open to any student interested and skilled in high school math. The challenge encourages students to explore, discover, and learn more about mathematics and problem solving.
