The Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing at the University of Waterloo develops many internationally recognized contests that help YOU develop your love for math and computer science. CEMC is responsible for creating the following contests:

The purpose of the Canadian Math Kangaroo Contest is to introduce students from grade 1 to 12 to math challenges. The annual competition is held in various Canadian cities.


The Caribou Mathematics Competition is held six times throughout the school year, and is open to students from grade 3 to 12. Ranking is determined by students’ performance in the best five of the six contests.

Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge

The COMC is Canada's premier national mathematics competition. It is open to any student interested and skilled in high school math. The challenge encourages students to explore, discover, and learn more about mathematics and problem solving.
