David Jinman Kim
Mr. Kim holds the unique position of being both principal and teacher at Elpis College … a role he happily takes on! He is often found engaging with his students both in and out of the classroom in matters of cars, cell phones, and computers. His students are fond of him, often excited to find out what his next class has in store. Mr. Kim is one of the founders of the school.
Credentials: Mr. Kim has a Ph.D. from York University in Pure Mathematics where his research area was on harmonic analysis on symmetric space. He has been welcomed as a panel member by the International Math Olympiad and as a researcher by GARC. During the 957th meeting of the American Mathematics Society, David was a speaker, presenting the Paley-Wiener and Bochner Schwartz Theorem for Bargmann Transform. He was also honoured to be a speaker at the 4th Isaac Congress where he discussed the Schoenberg Theorem for Positive Definite Functions on Heisenberg.
Courses: Mr. Kim teaches in the math department. He teaches all courses, including Data Management, Calculus and Vectors, and Advanced Functions, and he helps prepare students for various math contests.
